UCL Graduation Ceremony 2013

UCL has launched a new Graduate Support scheme to attract more women and disadvantaged students to study wireless and optical communications and other engineering Masters courses starting this September.

UCL is one of the world's leading universities with a tradition of accessibility which dates back to its beginning. It was founded in 1826 to open up education in England for the first time to students of any race, class or religion. It was also the first university to welcome female students on equal terms with men.

UCL's new Graduate Support Scheme continues UCL's tradition of making high quality education accessible. A total of 10 bursaries, consisting of a fee waiver and a living allowance of £10,000, are available for female students and students from underprivileged backgrounds on masters courses in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. There is also childcare support to assist parents whilst studying, and mentoring by researchers and senior managers from the technology industry for successful applicants.

This scheme is open to prospective students domiciled in the UK (that is, UK is your country of "ordinary residence”) who have "Home" tuition fee status.

By the closing date of 30th June, applicants must have submitted an application for admission to study the MSc in Wireless and Optical Communications Full-Time at UCL, starting in the 2014/15 academic session. This course includes some similar modules to the MRes in Photonic Systems Development.
